So I had this idea as I was driving home. What if we tried to organize some sort of area-wide wowtcg event without any help from blizzard? (And obv. not from UDE.)

I'm just thinking it's going to take them a while to get off their butts and get stuff going. So what if we made an event that had prizes good enough to draw players from Dallas, Waco, S.A., Houston, etc? It would need to be at least break-even of course, so there'd have to be a reasonable entry fee to cover prizes ($20? $30?)

Anyone think this is feasible? What would the obstacles be?

I'm thinking Austin's central location to the cities mentioned above, and the playerbase we have, would make this a lot more doable than it might be otherwise...

Also: what happened to this part from blizzard? " The new plans are being finalized and there should be a full announcement by this weekend." Did I miss some big announcement?

You didn't miss anything, and I think expectations were perhaps a bit too high to actually expect an announcement.

We're not going to stop doing what we're doing, don't worry about that.

As for an actual announcement, UDE and Blizzard need to finish up some legal stuff then there will be one.

I'm still holding my breath for Starcraft 2 to come out. I've been turning blue for like 5 years.
